Election Commissioner Announced Telangana Panchayat Elections Counting Schedule
With the beginning of New Year on Tuesday, Telangana State Election Commission announced the Panchayat election schedule. The Telangana Panchayat elections will conduct in three phases respectively on 21, 25, and 30 of January. Election Commissioner, V Nagireddy also told that the Panchayat elections will conduct without EVM. This will be the first Panchayat elections from the formation of Telangana. After bifurcation from Andra Pradesh, which held in 2014.
In the announcement, Election Commissioner V. Nagreddy said, The Elections would be starting from 7 a.m. and close till 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. The Telangana panchayat election counting result process would start on the same day after collecting votes. The model code of conduct has come into immediate force with the EC’s announcement. The Model Code of Conduct will be in process till the accomplishment of Telangana Panchayat elections.
2,280 Panchayat seat polls will conduct in the first phase on January,21. The second phase will conduct for 4,137 Panchayats on January 25. However, the remnant 4,115 Panchayat elections will conduct in the third Phase on January 30.
The Panchayat election procedure will commence from January 7’2019 for the first phase. Implementation for the second and third phase will begin from January 11 and January 16.
The election will be held with ballot papers, except that the Election Commissioner told about the two colors of Ballot papers. The white ballot paper will use forward members, while pink will use for electing Sarpanch. The ballot paper will also have NOTA option. The State Election Commission will conduct this election with 1.13 lacs polling booth for 12,700 villages.
